Connecticut is considered a “wealthy state” and yet more than 468,000 people in our state are food insecure!
That’s 1 in 8 people and 1 in 6 children. These number are up 23% from 2021 to 2024!!
To help reduce food insecurity in our state, Kiwanis clubs from across Connecticut teamed up for an annual meal-packing service project with End Hunger NE. Together, 18,000 protein-rich meals were packed and distributed to communities around Connecticut.
The Kiwanis Club of Greater Enfield donated about 2,000 of those meals to the local communities we serve: East Windsor, Ellington, Enfield, Somers and Suffield!
We want to grow our impact on the community and we are looking for members to volunteer with us and make a much-needed difference in our community. Contact us for more information.
