Kiwanis and Rotary Team Up to Benefit Enfield’s Community Garden
Teamwork makes the dream work! Along with the widened walkways and raised garden beds, volunteers from the Kiwanis Club of Greater Enfield and Enfield Rotary have teamed up so that people with disabilities will now have access to volunteering in Enfield’s Common Grounds Rotary Garden.
The Common Grounds Rotary Garden, that benefits the Enfield community and the Enfield Food Shelf, had a delayed opening due to the weather, but some important work was done by a joint effort of the Kiwanis Club of Greater Enfield’s Pete Ballard and the Enfield Rotary.
Thanks to Kiwanis member, Pete, for his excellent design, construction and installation skills, a new, accessible gate is now at the garden! Pete’s brother, Dan, and Pete’s son, Joe, helped with the installation! The Rotary Club of Enfield and Rotary District provided the funds for the materials, as part of a District grant awarded to their club!
Thank you Rotarian, Joe Muller, for transporting the materials from the store to Pete’s house for construction, and the finished gate to the garden!
Kudos and THANK YOU to this outstanding team effort to create an accessible and attractive gate! Way to go, Pete! Now more people can participate and help with the Common Grounds Garden!
